Durham Scout Center
Mid-America Council, Boy Scouts of America
The Batchelder Family Scouting Museum and Educational Center addition to the Scout Center provides a permanent home for the collection and display of artifacts and memorabilia depicting Mid-America Council Scouting. The museum display area is an extension of the Scout Center main entrance lobby and the addition creates a seamless transition with the original building. The 18,000 square foot facility provides administrative and office space for the Council staff and serves as the headquarters for merchandising, communication, conferencing, records management, and materials distribution for the Council. The building features the 1500 square foot Scout Shop and the 100 seat conference center. NMA provided design services for the museum addition and the NMA principals designed the original facility while with the firm of Kirkham Michael.
