College of Veterinary Medicine
Major expansion to the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine necessitated upgrading and adding capacity to the existing Vet Med Chilled Water Plant. The existing plant building was remodeled to accommodate the addition of two new chillers and modifications to the mechanical, electrical, and control systems. A new cooling tower and water basin structure along with the pump house, chemical feed, and electrical equipment structure was constructed adjacent to the current plant location. The pump house structure was designed to provide a compatible image with the expansion to the Vet Med facility. A subsequent project added boiler capacity requiring an addition to the existing central plant building. NMA provided design services in collaboration with Farris Engineering of Omaha, Nebraska.
