District Energy Corporation
Historic Haymarket in Downtown Lincoln is expanding into a new entertainment and cultural district anchored by the Pinnacle Bank Arena. District Energy Corporation has extended its service area with infrastructure systems and a new thermal energy facility to meet this demand for utility services. The 27,000 square foot, two-level facility houses boilers, chillers, electrical systems equipment, a mezzanine control center; and space for planned expansion and thermal storage. Throughout the design process, the architecture for the building was closely coordinated with the arena and the surrounding commercial development creating continuity in the use of materials and colors for a distinct, yet harmonious, environment. Nielsen, Mayne Architecture provided design services in collaboration with Farris Engineering of Omaha, Nebraska.
